Our second camp in 2016 has been realized in cooperation with Young Researchers of Serbia and was co-financed through program “Mladi su Zakon” by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Serbia. Young volunteers from Serbia, Russia, Turkey, France, Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands have, along with local volunteers, helped restore the Camp and its surroundings.
During the camp, volunteers have restored the front walls of the main house in the camp, renewed the education space, made a wooden gate with an info board at the entrance to the camp, have restored the concrete paths inside the camp and finally made a wooden amfitheater with a stage. The very next day after the amfitheater was finished, an education whose topic was “Volunteers in emergencies” had been organized there by our partners from Protekta. Municipality of Pantelej has been actively involved in the realization of the camp by supplying free transportation and tickets for entrance to the most significant historical locations in Niš. Along with all of this, the Municipality had also organized a press conference and a formal session in honor of our volunteers. Traditionally Direction for Construction of the City of Niš had provided us with speleo-guides to tour us through the Cerje Cave, while Sports Center Čair enabled free entrance to its swimming pools. Our volunteers have also enjoyed socializing with animals during a field trips thanks to our partners from ZOO Planet. They have also visited the medieval town of Železnik, St. John Monastery, Church of the Saint Trinity and the Čegar Monument.
