During the project „Golden Age“ we have performed a first “diagnostic” visit to the small mountain village of Kopajkosara.
The village is placed in the colorful, mountain environment of the Svrljig mountains. It has no roads or any kind of infrastructure except for the electricity. With it’s 70 inhabitants, the village has only 10 people who are younger than the age of 60. These people were happy to see the doctors in their village, saying it has been 40 years since the last time a doctor was there. During the visits we have revealed that is an urgent need for the humanitarian help, especially for the households with only one elderly person who is unable to acquire the necessities since the village doesn’t have any convenience stores.
In order to point out this last, forgotten village without a road, with the agreement of the donor – State Lottery of Serbia and media support of RTS (national broadcasting station), we have organized a “humanitary caravan”.
A group of 4 off-road vehicles has delivered the humanitary help, volunteers and journalists across the muddy mountain and forest roads to the village…
After a few months, the village got an asphalt road.
